Retro looks, real suede-style texture, and a surprisingly solid setup for the price.
The Candi Grl Carlin is one of those recreational skates that gives you more than you might expect at first glance. The colorful high-top boot has a soft brushed-suede look and padded lining, while the aluminum chassis underneath gives the Carlin a sturdier, more substantial feel than the basic nylon plates commonly found on entry-level skates.
The Carlin comes equipped with large 66mm × 38mm outdoor wheels. Hardness of the wheel is 82A, giving you a nice balance between outdoor cushioning and a slightly firmer, more responsive feel than very soft 78A wheels. They’re paired with Bevo Silver-5 / ABEC-5 bearings for an easy recreational roll.
It’s a great option for neighborhood skating, paved trails, casual cruising, and beginners who want a fun skate without settling for a toy-level setup.
Why we love it
The Carlin hits a really nice middle ground.
You’re getting the nostalgic colorful high-top look people love, but underneath it is an aluminum chassis with double-action trucks, not the cheapest possible recreational hardware. The big outdoor wheels also make it especially appealing if most of your skating is going to happen outside.
Best for: Beginners • Outdoor cruising • Sidewalks • Paved trails • Recreational skating • Casual indoor skating with a wheel change

Jen’s Take
The Carlin is one of those skates I've always thought gave you a lot for the money.
If you want a cute recreational skate for cruising outside but you don’t want the flimsiest beginner setup, this is a really good middle ground. The aluminum plate is a big plus at this price point, and I like the larger 66mm wheels for outdoor skating. It feels like an actual skate you can learn and have fun on, not something you’re immediately going to want to replace.
Sizing
Candi Grl Carlin skates use women’s whole shoe sizes.
The Carlin skates fit true to women’s whole shoe sizes. If you normally wear a half size, measuring your feet is still the safest way to choose between the two surrounding sizes.
Not sure which size to get? Measure both feet and check our Roller Skate Size Guide, or send us your measurements and we’ll help you choose.
