Sure-Grip Boardwalk Roller Skates

Rich colors, classic style, and a pair you can make your own. The Sure-Grip Boardwalk is one of my longtime favorites for skaters who want a recreational skate they can start in and keep enjoying as their skills grow.

Choose from Blueberry, Cherry, Evergreen, Cinnamon, and Black, with availability varying by color and size.

Why You’ll Love Them

  • Suede boots that gradually soften and mold to your feet with wear.

  • Classic high-top styling with a raised heel.

  • Versatile potential: change your wheels as your skating interests and surfaces change.

  • Rich, easy-to-style colors for a look that feels like you.

Jen’s Take 🛼

Boardwalks are one of the skates I’ve recommended for years. If you’re ready to invest in a pair you can learn in and continue using, these are absolutely worth a look.

In my experience, Boardwalks can be wide-feet friendly—but give them time. They can feel quite firm at first, and the break-in period may be longer than you expect. As you wear them, the suede softens and molds to the shape of your feet.

That said, breaking in a skate shouldn’t mean suffering through sharp pain, numbness, or crushed toes. A boot that’s too small won’t become the right size with wear. If you have wide feet and aren’t sure about the fit, message me before ordering.

Sizing & Fit — Please Read

These skates come in men’s sizing. The size you select—and the number printed inside the boot—is the men’s skate size.

As a general guide, Sure-Grip lists a men’s 8 as approximately a women’s 9. Use that as a starting point, then check your foot measurements against the sizing chart.

Your skates should feel snug but comfortable:

  • Your toes should lie flat without being curled or pressed against the end.

  • Your heel should feel secure without excessive lifting.

  • Your foot should not slide around inside the boot.

For wider feet: don’t automatically size up. Extra length doesn’t necessarily give you the width you need. Fit can also vary between Boardwalk versions, so measuring both feet is the best place to start.

Breaking Them In

Start with shorter sessions and gradually increase your skating time as the boots soften. Adjust your laces to relieve pressure while keeping your heel secure, and give your feet a break when needed.

The goal is a comfortable, personalized fit—not forcing yourself through pain.
